Community Focus Groups

Community Focus Groups are one of the main methodologies of our work in terms of community outreach and mobilization, but they also represent an action in their own right, as it is the mechanism through which our grant-giving program operates. Primarily, we do this by involving community members of different target groups into a community focus group (which can count upwards of 10 people), including known community activists, community members from different occupations such as teachers, doctors, lawyers, police officers, etc; the representatives of local community-based CSOs, representatives of the local government, as well as representatives from the private sector in the respective community.

This approach is of crucial importance in identifying the most pressing needs, challenges, and constraints of a particular community through a moderated community discussion, which will be organized by FIQ.  It’s an action and at the same time a working methodology that defines FIQ profile as a grassroots organization and it contributes to the three programs of FIQ.
